Issued for a 30-day social visit to family or friends in Nigeria. Applicants need an invitation letter from their host, the host’s Nigerian passport or residency permit, proof of funds, and a valid return ticket. This visa is single-entry, cannot be extended, and prohibits employment. Minors must show birth certificates and parental consent.

1. Prepare Your Documents

  • Passport: Valid for at least six months with at least two blank pages.
  • Passport Photo: Recent color photo with a white background.
  • Invitation Letter: From a host in Nigeria (family/friend or company), accepting immigration responsibility.
  • Host’s Passport Data Page: Copy of the host’s passport data page.
  • Proof of Accommodation: Hotel reservation or host address.
  • Flight Itinerary: Round-trip ticket confirmation.
  • Proof of Funds: Recent bank statement.

2. Complete the Online Application
  • Visit the official e-Visa portal @Ā Nigeria Immigration Service e-Visa portal
  • Choose the visa class that matches your realĀ purpose of travel.
  • For a wedding trip where you are mainly attending events and sightseeing, Tourism Visa (F5A) may fit better.
  • IfĀ you are staying with a host or traveling primarily for a social visit, F6A Visiting (Single Entry) may fit better.
  • Fill in all required fields accurately –
  • Enter your passport details exactly as shown onĀ the passport biodata page
  • Match your travel dates to your itinerary.
  • UseĀ the same name order and spelling across passport, ticket, and uploadedĀ documents
  • Upload your photo
  • Upload clear files. Keep scans upright,Ā readable, and complete.
  • IfĀ a document is optional for your category, do not upload random substitutes. Use only what the portal asks for.

3. Pay the Fee
  • Pay the visa fee online along with any processing chargesĀ using supported e‑payment methods
  • After payment, submit the application and save
    the confirmation page, reference number, and any email notices.

4. Receive Approval
  • The approval letter will be sent via email.
  • Apply at least 15 business days before travel (some approvals may be faster).
  • Once approved you should print the e‑Visa
    approval or confirmation and carry it with you to Nigeria.
